Positive reasons to vote for Steve Brine

Prospective Winchester MP Steve Brine lives locally with his young family. Find out more about the man asking for your vote at this election and why he deserves your support.

Prospective Conservative MP Steve Brine lives in the heart of the new Winchester & Chandler’s Ford constituency with his wife Susie, two-year old daughter Emily and Popcorn (the dog).

He has been the Conservative candidate (a voluntary position) since being chosen by local people in November 2006.  He says; “Susie and I chose to live in here many years ago as a place to (eventually) bring up our family and now we’re doing just that.  I didn’t move here to become the Member of Parliament.

“My background is as a radio journalist; I worked with the BBC, commercial radio here in the UK and in the US.  These days I work with a successful publishing and marketing business focused on the golf and leisure industry.  We’re a small business and, as many people locally will understand, it’s hard at the moment but I love it and it pays the bills (just!).

“Emily was merely a twinkle in Daddy’s eye when I selected to contest this seat and it does seem like a long time ago now.  Merely being the candidate is a privileged position and I really enjoy being able to help people.  I’d be lying if I said it’s not been really tough at times however; financially and emotionally.  Standing for Parliament, working pretty much full-time with a new baby has been a challenge but I’m just like thousands of people locally.  We all juggle lots of lives these days and you’d be amazed (or not if you have kids) how much of a complete switch-off a Peppa Pig DVD can actually be!”
