Celebrity readers also include Susie & Peter, Masters of Wine and TV Presenters and Timothy Knapman author of the wonderful M&S Christmas Book "Paddington and the Christmas Visitor' which is being sold to help raise funds for the NSPCC this Christmas.

The carol concert, which is in its second year, will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 14 December followed by a champagne and canapé reception set in stunning medieval surroundings.

Dame Esther Rantzen said: "After the great success of 2016's event, I am delighted to be hosting the second Winchester Christmas Concert organised by the Winchester committee.

"It will be a fantastic evening that will raise much needed funds for the NSPCC and Childline to continue vital work to fight for every childhood."

Tickets cost £30 for the concert only or £55 for both the concert and reception.
