It was all hands on deck in Twyford on Sunday 9th February, as Steve Brine dropped into support residents battling the floods on Hazeley Road.
Steve, who was joined by his two children, met up on site with County Councillor Rob Humby who has been working tirelessly to support villagers since water levels came up.
The Winchester & Twyford MP worked around the clock over the weekend with various agencies, residents and councillors across the Winchester district as many of the worst predictions of heavy flooding came true.
Steve Brine said: "This part of Twyford has been badly hit and Cllr Humby and I are doing all we can to ensure that residents and businesses have the full support, and everything they practically need, from the county council, Environment Agency and Southern Water.
"The community spirit I saw in Twyford this afternoon did not surprise me one bit and I pay tribute to the Parish Council who rose to the challenge yet again. Sadly, one consequence of this record rainfall, the like of which we haven't seen for over 200 years, is that the lovely Bean Below cafe has been temporarily forced to close but I know it will rise phoenix like as soon as it's safe to do so."
