Local MP Steve Brine has launched his third annual school Christmas card competition, open for schools right across Winchester & Chandler's Ford.
Steve said: "The competitions in 2011 and 2012 were a great success with so many entries. The sheer quality of the work was hugely impressive, and testament to the talent we have in our schools."
The winning painting will be used on the front of Steve's official 2013 Christmas card which, as ever, will be sent out to community groups, public services, charities and local businesses, including the Prime Minister at No.10 and his cabinet. The winner will have their name, age and school printed on the inside front page of the card.
The judging of entries which make the short-list will take place on Friday 1st November at Winchester Discovery Centre's Children's Library with finalists on display until Christmas. This year, local artist Judy Strafford will be judging entries with Steve Brine.
This year's first prize is a family ticket to Snow White & Seven Dwarfs courtesy of Winchester Theatre Royal, with Year Group prize winners receiving family tickets to Marwell Zoo courtesy of Marwell Wildlife.
Steve continued: "Judy and I are very much looking forward to looking at this year's entries, and here's wishing children across Winchester & Chandler's Ford all the very best!"
Closing date for entries is Friday 25th October; email@example.com
