Steve Brine has welcomed news that the Airlynx school transport contract, which covers children across Winchester, the Downlands area and the Itchen Valley, will not be renewed when its licence to operate, as enforced by the Traffic Commissioner ceases on Monday 10th November.
Hampshire County Council will be alerting schools and parents to the new arrangements, having considered all options to ensure the continuity of safe home-to-school transport for children.
Steve Brine MP said: “This is the right decision from Hampshire, the safety of children on their way to school should never remotely be in question and I am glad they have acted to change supplier without delay while following due process of course.”
