Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine held a special Carers' Surgery at Wells Place in Eastleigh as he found out more about care groups across the area.
Before meeting his constituents, Steve met with Lucy Sams, Project Leader of 1 Community, which the MP has worked closely with in the past, to discuss their Carers Week event at Wells Place, Eastleigh.
He was also able to take some time to speak with various stall-holders, representing organisations such as MacMillan and Young Carers, as well as hearing more about the taster sessions of therapies such as aromatherapy, Indian head massage, chi kung and meditation provided for carers.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "I cannot over-estimate how impressed I was meeting up with 1 Community again today. They are very serious about everything they do locally to promote voluntary activity, encourage partnership working and provide a community service, and it was great to see such a variety of people from across the borough, including Chandler's Ford, here today, marking the end of a packed national Carers Week.
"I was also holding a special Carers Week constituency surgery, and the discussions which took place were extremely useful for me. Sadly I had to whizz off for my next appointment, but I know there were many activities planned for the rest of the day, and a quick glance at the schedule told me they were about to get even busier!"
