Winchester's newest toyshop opens for business and receives thumbs up from family Brine!
Childhood’s Dream is a brand-new toyshop on Southgate Street in central Winchester.
The store says it aims to bring “style and fun to shopping for toys in Winchester” and is owned by husband and wife team, Susan and Tony Whyman from Alresford.
“We love toys, and those that we stock have been hand-picked for their good design, quality, play-value and sustainability”, they said at the opening party held on Wednesday 29 October 2008.
Prospective Winchester MP Steve Brine attended the party with his wife Susie and 11-month old daughter Emily (pictured).
Steve says; “There is much gloom around at the moment, not least for small businesses so it is great to see a new shop open and to do so with such confidence. We are certainly getting to know this side of shopping in Winchester now Emily is getting a bit older and I think Childhood’s Dream will quickly establish itself in the city because they are offering something new and it is of very high quality.
"Emily certainly seemed to enjoy what they had on display and I have a sneaking suspicion we will back (or should I say Father Christmas will be back) before December 25!”
Childhood’s Dream opens today (Thursday 30 October 2008) and can be found on Southgate Street in Winchester or online via www.childhoodsdream.co.uk
