Steve Brine took young Emily and William to Wonston on Saturday 8th July as they enjoyed the Wonston Fete.
Featuring the Wonderful Wessex Circus, the fete, which was held in the garden of The Old House, also heard from a choir and local singer Lisa Faye, as well as the hugely popular Grand Draw.
There were rides on the miniature steam train, and a host if staple attractions including a bouncy castle, obstacle course pony petting and Splat the Rat.
Steve said: "Ours is seemingly a world of great flux and change but there's something reassuringly familiar, something that is 100% England, about the Wonston Fete which the kids and I so enjoyed last month. We especially enjoyed the coconut shy, taking two off their perch.
"It was a triumph and the natural shade ensured even the heatwave of early July didn't spoil the fun. It was a pleasure to see Matt Todd and his 'pop up' pub serving traditional ale and many congratulations to him for once again being named North Hampshire Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale. Matt has proved what can be done with hard work, enthusiasm and good beer, and the Wonston Arms is firmly on my list for Summer recess."
