Steve Brine joined thousands of people, including a sprinkling of celebrities, as the ninth annual Alresford Watercress Festival took place on Sunday 20th May.
As well as joining TV cook Sophie Grigson, Radio Solent presenter Katie Martin, Katie Hughes of the Cook Academy and Charles Barter of the Watercress Alliance in judging the World Watercress Soup Championships, the Alresford MP turned his hand to making watercress soup.
The event, which included a parade through the town and morris dancers, was thought to have attracted over 10,000 visitors.
Steve said: "This really is a wonderful annual event, and a real highlight not only for me and the family, I am sure, but for the whole town.
"There was so much going on, and it was great to catch the Festival King & Queen dishing out watercress to spectators on their horse and cart!
"With one thing and another it has been a packed weekend, and I am delighted I have managed to catch two splendid events where people really turned out in force, both in Sparsholt yesterday and Alresford today."
