Steve Brine met the Dalai Lama on Wednesday 20th June as renowned figure addressed MPs on a host of world and international development issues.
Taking place shortly after PMQs, MPs had the chance to listen to his thoughts and also engage in a question & answer session with the Tibetan icon.
Speaking afterwards, Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine said: "It's not every day that you have the opportunity to meet such a figure, and it really was fascinating to listen to him talk and then shake him by the hand.
"It really puts things in perspective when you think that he has held his position since 1940, just one year into World War II, and the atmosphere in the room really was something else."
The Dalai Lama will be in the UK until Saturday 23rd June to spread his message of non-violence, dialogue and universal responsibility, particularly to young people.
