Steve Brine recently met up with a group of girls from St Swithun's School, as they attended the Global Student Forum up in Westminster on Tuesday 28th June.
The subject of the forum, which was attended by Sixth-Formers from across the country, was the extent of maternal death in the developing world, and various workshops and presentations were held exploring the UN Millenium Development Goal in this area.
Steve said: "I was delighted to meet up with the girls from St Swithun's, and very impressed at the way they really got to grips with the issues they were looking at. They certainly struck me as being extremely passionate about maternal death, and I am very pleased they took so much out of the event."
Pupil Lizzy Peet, 17, said: ""I loved meeting my MP, Steve Brine, he really encouraged me to remember that I have a voice and that I should speak out and express my views: I believe that maternal mortality is something that everyone should be aware of and it's really important that we reach our goal – We will make a change!"
