Winchester and Chandler’s Ford’s MP recognised the hard work of military personnel who have spent much of the last year working alongside the staff at South Central Ambulance Service.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Steve Brine put to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence; “Will the minister join me in thanking the 35 military personnel who continue to support the frontline team at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), which serves my constituents?”
The Minister, James Heappey MP, agreed saying; “I, of course, join my honourable friend in thanking and acknowledging the fine work of the armed forces personnel supporting the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), as well as those who have been supported in the North West, London and the Welsh ambulance services as well. “
Steve Brine also took the time to ask the Minster to confirm the MoD’s commitment in staying by the ambulance service’s side until the end of restrictions.
In response the Minister replied; “Supporting covid-19 pandemic response remains Defence’s main priority and I can confirm that Defence will continue to provide support, whilst our assistance is requested and the requirement endures.”
