Nominations are now open for the Rural Oscars, run by the Countryside Alliance to recognise and honour those who routinely go the extra mile for their community.
The categories include 'Village Shop/Local Post Office', 'Farm Enterprise', Tourism Enterprise' and 'Local Food', and the winners will have demonstrated not only their contribution to the rural economy, but the protection and promotion of our rural heritage, celebrating our great local produce and supporting our rural communities.
Steve Brine said: "I'm delighted the awards are back, and I know of so many local candidates who could do well. I'm sure nominations from across the area will fly in thick and fast and I'm delighted to be able to flag this up to my constituents."
Nominations close on 4th November and winners will be announced in the spring.
