The 1st Hursley Scout Group is currently seeking volunteers and leaders in order to expand Beaver and Cub places and help them develop the group.
Group Manager Ian 'H' Wells said: "After a gap of some 12 years The 1st Hursley Scout Group was reinstated on Monday 23rd April 2012 and started with a Beaver (6-8 year olds) Colony currently consisting of 12 brilliant youngsters and 12 adult helpers.
"The success to date has very much been based on the support of the adult leaders and helpers.
"We are now hoping to add to the number of beavers in the colony as well as establish a Cub pack (8-10.5 year olds) in the new year (more details about extra beaver places and a cub pack will be published in due course).
"However we cannot really move further forward without establishing an executive committee, and a few more leaders, which will help us develop and grow the group."
Within the scout sections, there are a number of adult leadership roles, with associated support roles, as noted above, and they are looking to fill the Group roles as soon as possible. Roles include Beaver Scout Leader and assistant as well as a Colony assistant, and a Cub Scout Leader and assistant as well as a pack assistant. There are also a variety of Group roles available.
Ian continued: "If you're interested in knowing more about the 1st Hursley Scout Group, please get in touch. The opportunities to volunteer with us are flexible, if you can give a little time (or a lot) to help improve young lives in our community, we'd love to hear from you.
"As Voltaire quotes "every man is guilty of all the good he didn't do.""
