Steve Brine joined up with Winchester Samaritans on Saturday 2nd July as they celebrated their 40th birthday in the city at the Bishop's Residence in College Street.
The Winchester MP was on hand to say a few words to current and past volunteers about how much the community values the work that they do listening to callers in need.
Steve said: "This was a lovely occasion, and it was great to catch up with so many people I know from across the city.
"It is also very concerning that while 80% of those who take their lives are men, only around one third of calls received come from men, so I absolutely echo their message that men should feel that it is, without question, ok to talk to Samaritans."
