Steve Brine took his family to Winchester Cathedral on Saturday 11th June as they took part in a special Street Party.
The event on Saturday afternoon was part of a weekend of celebration organised by the Cathedral and was a wonderful opportunity to say goodbye to the Dean, James Atwell, and celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
As well as a picnic in the Outer Close, there was musical entertainment, fairground organs and even a fairground carousel. There was a long line of tables, festooned with bunting, and a high tea served by Friends of Winchester Cathedral volunteers.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "Today was a happy and glorious day to be in England as we celebrated our Queen's 90th birthday. It was also sad as this weekend we say goodbye to Dean James Atwell who retires after many years fine service to our Cathedral and city life.
"I wish James and Lorna every good wishes for their future and want to personally thank them for all their support and prayers."
