Steve Brine took part in the iconic Radio 4 show Westminster Hour on Sunday 1st July. The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP took part in a wide-ranging discussion over the sixty minute programme, which also heard from Labour MP Thangham Debbonaire and The Spectator's Katy Balls.
Much of the show was, of course, dedicated to Brexit, and Steve was clear that while the country voted to leave the EU, the UK did not therefore vote for a distant relationship with our neighbours.
And ahead of the big week coming up as the Cabinet is set to meet at Chequers to discuss the White Paper on our customs relationship with the EU post-Brexit, he called on Parliamentary colleagues to come together and respect the wishes of the 48% throughout the remainder of the negotiations.
The conversation also turned to the future of the NHS. Steve explained how the government would do whatever is necessary to protect NHS patients as the UK leaves the European Union, and how it was vital to keep a strong economy to protect NHS funding.
