Local MP Steve Brine paid a visit to the Carroll Centre in Stanmore on Friday (5th April).
He was invited by the team, led by Jool Heller-Dixon, to see some of the new services on offer including the hugely successful new QUBE soft play facility. It opened towards the end of last year and has proved popular with young families from the immediate area and attracted users from across the City.
The Winchester MP, who was also joined by Cllr Jamie Scott and Carroll Centre trustee Ian Tait, was shown around the centre, before sitting down for a cup of tea to discuss a range of issues across the community.
Steve said: “I always enjoy visiting the Carroll Centre because it’s at the heart of the community it serves and it never stands still. The new soft play facility is fantastic, and clearly very popular, and it was very useful to be able to go over a range of issues around Stanmore with Jool who is an experienced and quite inspirational leader in this community.”
Jool Heller-Dixon added; “We were delighted to welcome Steve to the Carroll Centre, and we appreciate his ongoing interest in the Stanmore community. We were able to show him the new services that we run as a social enterprise while we train people into work and support their development.”
