Steve Brine dropped into Winchester Cathedral on Friday 14th December as he caught up with Annabelle Boyes, the Receiver General.
After an update on the ever popular Christmas Market and Ice Rink, as well as a chat about the general health of the Chapter and Cathedral, Annabelle took Steve on a tour of the Cathedral.
In particular, Steve was keen to see how the work on the Cathedral’s ‘The Birth of a Nation’ development programme was progressing. The work focuses on conservation of the Cathedral building, as well as expanding the education facilities with a new Learning Centre and a stunning new display centre in the South Transept for the famous Winchester Bible.
Steve Brine said; “I value so much our great Cathedral and it’s always useful to catch up with Annabelle Boyes at this time of year with the iconic Christmas market in full swing.
“The new exhibition is going to be something very special indeed. The rest of the world is in for a breath-taking treat when it opens to the public next year.”
