The Storehouse at Winchester Vineyard Church provides clothing and equipment for approximately 450 families every year as well as 100 food bags, toiletries as well as distributing fresh supermarket food hospices, refuges and individuals.
Following recent re-furbishment at the church, The Storehouse has moved in to a brand new and expanded space and re-launched with the help of Steve Brine MP, who expressed his gratitude for those working with the most vulnerable people in the local community.
The newly developed Storehouse space will increase capacity, meeting the needs of more people and expanding its services to include training and courses such as cookery, budgeting and computer skills.
The Storehouse partners with over 40 agencies, many of whom were represented at the launch, where Pastor Nigel Hemming thanked them on behalf of the city for all that they do.
Jenny Mackereth, who oversees the Storehouse said "We are delighted with the new space and really looking forward to using it to better support and meet the needs of people who are facing challenges."
Nigel Hemming, Senior Pastor of Winchester Vineyard church said "The Storehouse is a core part of our church and a brilliant way for us to show God’s love and compassion in our local community".
Steve Brine MP who attended the opening said "It is wonderful to see so many organisations working in partnership with the Storehouse and to celebrate the development of a key provider in our community. What is really inspiring for me is how Winchester Vineyard doesn’t just hide itself away, but actively puts itself out there, reaching out to help the most vulnerable in society with a great strength of faith at its heart."
