Steve Brine wrapped up his Summer Tour 2012 with a busy street surgery at the Oliver's Battery shops on Thursday 16th August.
The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP was inundated with local people who wished to chat, and was also accompanied for the first half of the session by the chair of the local parish council, Terry Morris.
The street surgery marked the culmination of a busy summer for Steve, who has engaged with hundreds of constituents over the course of his second Summer Tour.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "This summer has been incredible, and it has been fantastic to get out and speak with residents across Chandler's Ford, Highcliffe, Weeke, Sutton Scotney, Kings Worthy, Twyford and Alresford, before finishing in Oli B today.
"The reaction from local people across the district has been great, and so many have said to me how much they appreciate the fact that I have been able to come to them.
"As ever, as well as being able to discuss issues such as gay marriage, primary school places and the Eurozone, there have been some heart-rendering cases I have picked up and been able to take on."
As well as street surgeries such as Oliver's Battery and Alresford, Steve has held booked surgeries and also carried out some good old-fashioned door-knocking.
Steve continued: "Of course, I deal with so many emails and letters on a daily basis, but it has been great to be able to put some faces to names and finally meet with even more of my constituents.
"As I speak, I am already planning Summer Tour 2013, and if anyone has any suggestions or requests on where they would like me to go I would be delighted to hear from them."
