Local MP Steve Brine has released details of his second Summer Tour, following the success of his inaugural Tour in 2011, and has announced that he will be holding a street surgery in the town on Saturday 21st July between 10am and 12 midday.
The surgery will be held on the corner of Broad Street and West Street and the Alresford MP will be joined by City Councillor Ernie Jeffs.
Steve visited a number of locations across the constituency last year, including Stanmore, Winnall, Hyde and Abbotts Barton, and met a large number of constituents at surgeries or simply by knocking on doors.
This year, Steve is taking in a range of communities over the summer recess, with a mix of booked surgeries, informal street surgeries and more door-knocking in places such as Oliver's Battery, Weeke, Highcliffe and Chandler's Ford.
Steve said: "Some people believe MPs put their feet up each summer, and some MPs may even do that, but I am determined to get out there and meet as many people as possible while Parliament is in recess and I find the Summer Tour is really well received wherever we go.
"If this summer is anywhere near as successful as last year (weather notwithstanding!) then I will be really happy, and I would encourage all my constituents to visit my website to find out more about where I will be this year.
"Of course, nothing has changed with regard to local people getting in contact with me in the usual way, and I will still be handling casework and correspondence as it arrives, but I am really looking forward to cranking up the Summer Tour again during late July and August."
