The Three Maids Hill motocross planning application will be determined at a special meeting of the planning committee of Winchester City Council on Wednesday 21st March.
Following a site visit in the morning, the meeting will take place in the Guildhall at 2pm. Local MP Steve Brine has long campaigned against the site's continued use for motocross and Cllr Stephen Godfrey has led an action group dedicated to representing the hundreds of local residents whose lives have been blighted by the noise.
Stephen, pictured right with Steve, said: "Following a meeting of the action group, it has been decided to formally complain about the lack of action Winchester City Council has taken with regard to monitoring noise levels experienced by local people. I cannot stress enough just how strongly people, not only in South Wonston and Worthy Down but also across Littleton, Harestock, King's Worthy, Headbourne Worthy and even further afield, feel about this."
Steve Brine added: "Stephen has been extremely vocal about this application from the start, and I pay tribute to his work. While I am not attacking motocross as an activity itself, this is simply the wrong place I am afraid, and the incessant noise just makes residents' lives at weekends a misery.
"I will be hoping that a sensible decision is made on 21st March, and would urge residents across the area to stay in touch with me and Cllr Godfrey on this important issue."
