Steve Brine has welcomed news of a new venture in Winchester following his work supporting Creative Fulflood.
Wendy Wyatt has recently set up Bobbin Sewing School, on Brassey Road, which is offering sewing classes from skilled tutors to anyone who loves to sew and wants to learn more.
From dressmaking, interiors, pattern cutting, crafts and accessories – Bobbin is brand spanking new and will be adding more courses throughout the year.
Wendy told Steve: "I was made redundant whilst I was pregnant with my second child so I was really scratching my head about what I could do as my husband and I worked in London, so one of us had to make a sacrifice. There are so many mum's like me who have given up work, some voluntarily and some very reluctantly, and want to do something else but are tied by childcare commitments.
"We thought by offering sewing classes, we can teach mum's to sell online - there are some fabulous places to sell like Etsy, design and craft markets do really well. Sewing can be done at home, and can easily fit around childcare."
Steve said: "I always knew Winchester was a creative city but over the last two years I have learnt so much more. I was delighted to hear from Wendy and her exciting new venture, which I am sure will continue to go from strength to strength.
"The website is fantastic and I wish Wendy all the very best in adding to an already Creative Fulflood!"
