Steve Brine took his son William to the Gurkha Museum at Peninsula Barracks on Monday 1st August, for the opening of the 'Bravest of the Brave' exhibition. The visit was the opening salvo of Steve's 2016 Summer Tour.
Steve, who had been invited by the Trustees, saw General Sir Gary Johnson KBE, OBE, MC open the display in the McDonald Gallery in the historic museum, which tells the unique, and often moving, story of Gurkha service to the British Crown and its people over the last 200 years.
The Gurkhas, known and respected for their loyalty and courage, have battled in nearly every country in which Britain has fought, and have a fascinating history which continues to the present day.
Speaking afterwards, Steve Brine said: "I was honoured to have been asked to come along for the opening of this magnificent exhibition today, and also to meet with many Gurkhas and the team here at the museum.
"It's a truly remarkable exhibition, and I am sure that many of my constituents will be paying a visit this summer."
