Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium has launched a £30,000 public appeal to fund the installation of a registered Changing Places toilet, an essential facility for many people with disabilities.

Funding boost for local railways to improve Shawford station

Network Rail has announced a new £2m funding boost to improve the railway structure across Hampshire.

The money will be spent between 2019 and 2024 across the route, which runs out of London’s Waterloo station, and represents more than a 20% increase on the existing five-year budget.

Airlynx school bus contract to end

Steve Brine has welcomed news that the Airlynx school transport contract, which covers children across Winchester, the Downlands area and the Itchen Valley, will not be renewed when its licence to operate, as enforced by the Traffic Commissioner ceases on Monday 10th November.

MP responds in Ovarian Cancer debate

Steve Brine spoke in a Westminster Hall debate on ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment on Tuesday 30th October. The Winchester & Chandler’s Ford MP is also the Cancer Minister, and he responded to Lee Rowley MP’s debate on behalf of the Government.
