On Friday 30th November, Winchester and Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine attended the second Winchester Civic Prayer Breakfast, along with a host of local organisations and city leaders.
The event, hosted at the Guildhall, was organised by Churches Together in Winchester, who promote unity and co-operation amongst Christian churches in Winchester and the surrounding district. The prayer breakfast was aimed at drawing together those in business, retail and the wider community to participate in a discussion on the perceived needs of Winchester city.
Steve Brine said: "It was an early start this morning with the Winchester Civic Prayer Breakfast. An insightful and positive place which is refreshing indeed right now. I had several productive discussions with members of the church community and I was impressed at the level of understanding of what we need to do to move forward."
There were a variety of guest speakers, from the deputy governor of Winchester prison to the nightshelter manager.
Steve added: "Following the success of last year's event, this was not one I was going to miss and I left assured that, with a community like this, Winchester is heading in the right direction."
