MP thanks RHCH staff

Steve Brine has thanked staff at RHCH after a power outage at Southampton General Hospital resulted in them closing their Emergency Department and diverting to Winchester, Portsmouth and Basingstoke.

Funding boost for local railways to improve Shawford station

Network Rail has announced a new £2m funding boost to improve the railway structure across Hampshire.

The money will be spent between 2019 and 2024 across the route, which runs out of London’s Waterloo station, and represents more than a 20% increase on the existing five-year budget.

Airlynx school bus contract to end

Steve Brine has welcomed news that the Airlynx school transport contract, which covers children across Winchester, the Downlands area and the Itchen Valley, will not be renewed when its licence to operate, as enforced by the Traffic Commissioner ceases on Monday 10th November.
