Steve Brine tested the ground for the Big Sleep Out at Winchester Cathedral on Friday 6th September.
He joined local resident Wanda Nash and Trinity Winchester staff as they promoted the event, which will take place at the cathedral on Friday 20th September, raising money for Winchester homelessness charities, Trinity Winchester and Winchester Churches Nightshelter.
Wanda will be celebrating 'her last birthday before 80' on the night and has invited her friends to bring their sleeping bags and help her celebrate. Wanda said: "I have always wished to spend the night in the Cathedral and what better way to celebrate my birthday than being here with friends, whilst also raising money for such a great cause."
Steve Brine MP, who is a long term supporter of Trinity Winchester and Winchester Churches Nightshelter, took part in the last sleep out in 2009. He said: "This event is not only a unique opportunity to sleep at the City's most famous landmark but also a great way to support two invaluable local charities. I hope people will be inspired to sign up and join the fun."
