Steve Brine has said that David Cameron is more confident than ever before, leading a modern and compassionate, centre-ground government that is delivering on its manifesto promises.
The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP was speaking moments after the Prime Minister delivered his annual Conference speech, which was widely acclaimed across the political spectrum for its focus on tackling 'deep divisions' across our country.
In what he described as this 'turnaround decade', Mr Cameron spoke passionately about how he was only half-way through his time in office, and was in as much of a hurry as ever. As well as tackling religious extremism head-on, he explained that his focus was on improving the outcomes of care-leavers, reducing re-offending rates or ensuring that being black, Asian, female or gay doesn't mean anyone will be treated differently.
Steve Brine said: "I thought this was vintage Cameron, and leading a modern and compassionate centre-ground government which is delivering on its manifesto and its promises.
"Quite simply, our goal is a Greater Britain that supports the vulnerable, backs those who do the right thing and helps them get on in life."
In his wide-ranging speech, the Prime Minister announced a major boost to affordable home ownership so more young people can have a home of their own, and confirmed the Government has secured an agreement with housing associations to give their tenants the Right to Buy their own home, a boost for 1.3m families.
Mr Brine added: "Apart from various announcements this Conference on crucial issues such as wraparound childcare and the very welcome and radical changes to business rates, there was so much in this speech that my constituents across Winchester & Chandler's Ford have been pleased to hear, a fact confirmed by my inbox these past few hours!"
