Steve Brine joined hundreds of local people at Christ Church on Tuesday 17th November for a special event.
The Winchester MP returned especially from Parliament for the licensing of The Revd David Rowe as Priest-in-Charge of Christchurch, carried out by the Bishop of Winchester, Tim Dakin.
Steve was able to spend some time chatting to David and assembled guests, as well as addressing the congregation at the packed event.
Speaking afterwards, he said: "I came back tonight especially from London, and a House of Commons full of anxiety and big decisions in a city full of fear to a house full of love and happiness as we gathered for this occasion.
"I was utterly privileged to be able to speak at this fantastic event, and I extend my warmest wishes to David as he takes up this position."
