CTC Winchester has announced the dates for a series of women-only cycle rides, designed to encourage more ladies onto two wheels.
CTC is a national cycling charity, which inspires and helps people to cycle and keep cycling. It works to protect and promote cycling to create a healthier, cleaner world now and for the future.
They encourage all types of cycling, both on-road and off-road, and run regular rides in and around Winchester for varying levels of ability.
Steve Brine said: "I know they would love to see more women out on their rides, but they acknowledge that it can be quite a daunting prospect to join a group of regular cyclists for the first time.
"I am sure that the short series of introductory rides in May and June, led by experienced women riders from the local CTC group, will be very popular, and I wish the events well."
The rides will meet at a start point in Winchester and will go out for about 2 hours on easy, quiet routes. The route will be circular, ending up back at the starting point ready for a well deserved cappuccino.
No special clothing is needed, just stretchy, comfortable jogging bottoms, a t-shirt, a warm layer and something windproof/showerproof.
The rides will be held on the following dates:
Thursday 9th May at 9.30 am starting from Tesco car park, Easton Lane, Winchester
Friday 17th May at 9.30 am starting from Winchester Hotel car park, Worthy Lane, Winchester
Wednesday 22nd May at 1.30 pm starting from Tesco car park, Easton Lane, Winchester
Saturday 8th June at 10.00 am starting from Winchester Hotel car park, Worthy Lane, Winchester
