British cycling sensation Laura Trott visited Parliament on Wednesday 25th February to help kick off this year's Prudential Ride London cycling event.
Steve Brine met with Laura as part of the All Party Cycling Group, and heard how she was going to be taking part herself in the event, held on 1st and 2nd August, and which raised over £10m for charity last year.
Steve Brine said: "We took the kids to the event the last few years and it's an exhilarating experience to see riders fly through the iconic streets of London at such speed.
"It was good of Laura to drop in this morning to meet the all-party group and many others MPs and Peers ahead of this year's event which she will be taking part in."
It will be a busy summer of cycling, not only in London but also in Winchester, as the annual Criterium and Cyclefest will take place on Sunday 7th June. The event will see will see city centre streets closed for a day of all things cycling, with races and activities for all the family.
CycleFest will take place in the Broadway, where over twenty local organisations will display their wares and there will be opportunities to try-out and enjoy different bicycles - including a smoothie-making bike!
