Local MP Steve Brine has welcomed David Cameron's 'personal' and 'determined' conference speech outlining his optimism and vision for the future on Wednesday 5th October.
The Prime Minister used the keynote speech, delivered at the end of the 2011 annual conference in Manchester, to tell the conference that normal People have very clear instructions for this government: "Lead us out of this economic mess."
He highlighted the leadership that was needed to get Britain out of its economic mess, and paid tribute to our Armed Forces.
In a speech that attacked red tape and health & safety laws, Mr Cameron praised the actions of those who cleaned up the mess after the riots, and how the government is giving local neighbourhoods more control over their communities.
Speaking directly after the speech, Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine said: "I thought this was Cameron at his best; a very personal speech and a very determined one. I have always believed this country is at its best when it rejects cynicism and views the glass as half full. I was pleased to hear his assurances on the new planning rules and loved the passionate way he spoke about completing our health and education reforms for the benefit of the millions of people who rely on those key public services every day.
"The Prime Minister reminded everyone today why he is heads at the top of his game right now and remains the towering figure in British politics."
