Steve Brine dropped into Winchester Science Centre on Thursday 10th December as they hosted the Hampshire tournament of the FIRST LEGO League.
The League is an international robotics competition for 9-16 year olds, and this year the centre had 20 teams taking part from across the county.
Education Officer Suzy Green said: "The centre was busy with 200 bright, enthusiastic girls and boys who had been working hard towards this day for the last twelve weeks. We were very pleased to have a visit from our local MP Steve Brine and his son William, who came to see the teams and their achievements.
"With six activities over the packed day they were all still smiling and cheering as they collected their trophies and medals at 5:30pm. We were even treated to a song from one of the primary school teams."
Steve said: "I was so pleased to be asked to come, and it was great that I could bring young William, who loves Lego, to experience this too. I know that Winchester Science Centre is sending the winners and runners up to the National tournament, which is held in February at Loughborough University, so best of luck with that!"
