Steve Brine MP officially re-opened the newly refurbished facilities at Chandlers Ford Care Home in Eastleigh on Friday 19th April. The home, under management of HC-One, the country's third largest provider of residential care for older people, had recently undergone refurbishments to boost its offering to the local community.
Steve Brine MP was shown around the premises, which now have new furniture, bathrooms and decorations, before he marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon and officially marking this special day. Steve Brine MP had previously visited the home before it was taken over by HC-One, and was amazed at the changes that had taken place since; he said the home was barely recognisable.
During the visit, Mr Brine MP also had the chance to speak directly to residents and their relatives as well as other members of the local community who were at the home to celebrate this very special day.
The refurbishment is part of an initiative by HC-One to ensure all homes are providing top of the range facilities which not only look great but also have features that will allow residents to enjoy the kindest care.
Home Manager for Chandler's Ford, Fiona Baldwin, said: "It was lovely to have our local MP Steve visit the home, both residents and staff were really excited. Steve was a big hit with our residents and made the day really special for everyone.
"The home has been through some significant changes it was great to be able to share these with Steve. We thank him for inaugurating our newly refurbished home and we look forward to welcoming him back in the near future."
Steve Brine, MP for Winchester and Chandler's Ford said: "I was simply blown away by the warm and friendly welcome put on for me by staff, residents and relatives alike. I am hugely impressed with the turnaround at this home which is a different place from the one I visited back in September 2011 in the midst of the Southern Cross crisis. It's revival under HC-One is a huge relief to us all."
