The Sport and Recreation Alliance has launched its Community Sport and Recreation Awards for 2022. For over 25 years the annual awards programme has celebrated the achievements of grassroots sport and recreation.
The Awards will recognise 40 exceptional clubs and organisations across eight different categories for their contribution to their communities. Those categories are:
- Youth Development Award
- Community Club of the Year
- Going Green Award
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Award
- Diversity and Inclusion Award
- Inspiration of the Year
- Resilience in Adversity Award
- Volunteer of the Year
The Alliance is eager to hear all about Winchester and Chandler’s Ford’s projects and initiatives that work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Entries are now open and will close on 15 November, and you can submit your entry by completing the relevant form on the awards page.
The awards are free to enter and with national recognition and cash prizes up for grabs, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to get recognised for the fantastic work you do in your community. The eight winners will each receive a £1,000 prize presented to them by HRH The Earl of Wessex at an awards ceremony in March.
Speaking about the awards Mr Brine said; “Community Sport and Recreation Awards are a fantastic opportunity for the brilliant clubs, we have here in the constituency, to be recognised for their excellence. I urge sport and recreation leaders to nominate their organisation for a chance to win.
Thank you to the Sport and Recreation Alliance for running this award, £1000 would go a long way for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford’s many great clubs, which are all so worthy of recognition.”
For more information and to enter, head over to the Sport and Recreation Alliance website and complete the relevant form by Monday 15 November.
