Steve Brine has welcomed news that a new app will enable people across Winchester to report problems to the council.
The new Your Winchester app has been created by Winchester City Council, and will allow residents to report problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, no matter where they are in the world.
Announcing the news, WCC said: "The app has been designed to make it as straightforward as possible for people to report problems or look up information on the move. There's no need to wait until you get back to the office or home before you can report problems, no need to hang on the phone to speak to an advisor at busy times and no need to work out who you should send the report to - Your Winchester does all that for you."
Steve Brine commented: "I am sure that, following the release of my own web-app earlier this year, residents in an increasingly mobile and fast-paced world will appreciate being able to report issues like refuse collections, fly-tipping, street rubbish and street lighting."
Cllr Stephen Godfrey, Portfolio Holder for Finance and Administration added: "The development of the Your Winchester app is another great step forward in making the Council easier to contact.
"The app, along with our recently redeveloped website, have been designed to ensure residents can interact with the Council 24 hrs a day for both information and transactions. We are keen to keep up to date with the latest forms of communication and the smart phone app is a key way of supporting such practical innovations."
