Steve Brine took part in the European Council debate in Parliament on Monday 22nd February, as the Commons heard the Prime Minister report back after his talks in Brussels.
The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP highlighted how many of the media reports focussed on 'contagion', where other member states were now looking to follow David Cameron's example in driving reform across the continent.
Steve Brine said that this contagion could be a good thing, and should be encouraged. He said: "The one-size-fits-all Europe of the 1970s and 1980s is a thing of the past, and the recognition of more than one currency is a good example of that. We have taken a lead that has set reform in train."
The Prime Minister confirmed that Europe will never work with one-size-fits-all, and that if countries such as Britain raise concerns, it is right they are addressed.
