A new phone helpline service for park homes residents has been introduced, which aims to serve the 170,000 people across the country who live in park homes.
PARK-help-LINE took its first call on Thursday 11th February, from a resident in Southampton, and the free, friendly and confidential service will hopefully help to bring better communication of the problems involved to all those within the industry.
Steve Brine has been a key member of the All Party Group for Park Homes, and is delighted at the news, following a special meeting of the group and residents in Parliament on Wednesday 10th February.
He said: "This helpline is one of those things you cannot believe hasn't been invented before but, like all good ideas, it just had to be done. I know many park home residents will find Park Line really useful and many more will simply be reassured by its existence in case they need it in the future."
Park Homes campaigner Sonia McColl said: "This could not happen without the help of the volunteer operators who are giving of their time to help other residents. These volunteers are all park home residents. They are the best placed to be handling these calls because they live the life and understand the problems and vulnerability of those who might be calling.
"In fact, without them, PARK-help-LINE would not exist and I thank them all."
