Steve Brine has welcomed Park Sport 2012, an initiative taking place at over 25 locations across Eastleigh, which will offer free sessions to all 8 - 16 year olds throughout the summer holidays to give people the opportunity to get outside and try something new.
This will be the 8th year of Park Sport provided by Eastleigh Borough Council's Sport & Active Lifestyles team, and each session will be operated by experienced and qualified coaches. Sponsored by CooperVision, Eastleigh Community Safety Partnership and First Wessex, almost all of these activities will be provided free of charge.
Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine said: "In this year of all years we have a great opportunity with young people to get really hooked into sport, and this scheme is extremely welcome. I am sure that loads of kids will quite literally be jumping at this chance, and will really take a lot out of the sessions."
Park Sport 2012 will include 5 weeks of scheduled sports sessions from Monday 23rd July - Friday 24th August, and some Paralympic inspired inclusive activities from Tuesday 28th August - Friday 31st August.
