Steve Brine and Cllr James Byrnes attended a public meeting at Henry Beaufort School to listen to proposals to develop a section of land to the north of Harestock Road.
A presentation was made by Paul Bulkeley, of Snug Projects, who has been working with the Welch brothers, who are looking to build a mixture of houses, flats and provide community facilities including football pitches, in between Kennel Lane and the Main Road.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "It was great to see so many local people, and familiar faces, here this evening, and take in the lively Q&A which featured some excellent questions from residents.
"For me, this kind of community-led development is the way forward, with frank engagement and debate, and I think it was very important that they took surveys from everyone who attended having heard the presentation and debate."
