Local MP Steve Brine met up with staff at Alresford's Shapla restaurant to present a 'highly commended' certificate and commemorative chef's jacket after their success in the Tiffin Cup.
The competition, run by a cross-party group in Parliament, celebrates the very best of south-east Asian cuisine in Britain, and MPs from across the land nominate outstanding restaurants from their constituency.
Based on West Street, the restaurant is part of a number of Shapla's across Britain, including Edinburgh and north London, and has been established in the town for over 15 years.
Steve Brine said: "I have used Shapla for many years and they thoroughly deserve this national recognition because they consistently deliver such a high quality product locally.
"The food is of course excellent but it's the service and the friendly welcome that often sets Shapla apart from the rest. I congratulate Moon and the whole team."
