Steve Brine joined members of the Civil Service Pensioners' Alliance on Tuesday 23rd October as the group celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Hosted by Michael McCann MP with guests Steve Webb MP and Rachel Reeves MP, the Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP joined guests in the Strangers' Dining Room of the House of Commons.
The Civil Service Pensioners' Alliance (CSPA) was originally formed in 1952 to campaign to restore the value of Civil Service and related scheme pensions which had eroded by inflation. They now campaign on behalf of 500,000 civil service pensioners, and have approximately 60,000 members drawn from all grades and all departments of the Civil Service and related bodies. The Alliance is also recognised by the Cabinet Office as representative of retired civil servants.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "I was delighted to be able to pop in and join the CSPA to celebrate their successes and achievements over the last 60 years. The group locally is very strong and I am sure they are proud of having reached this milestone."
