Winchester MP Steve Brine held a special surgery at Mountbatten Court on Andover Road today fulfilling a promise he made to residents during last year's General Election campaign.
Steve was joined by St Barnabas Ward city councillor Eileen Berry for the two-hour session (on Friday 26 August 2011) which formed part of his Summer Tour for 2011. They met with a number of residents who wanted to discuss local and national issues with the MP.
Steve said; "I was so pleased to have this surgery as part of the Summer Tour. I promised Mountbatten Court residents I would do this if I got elected and I am true to my word. As always when I hold a surgery, we had a wide range of issues raised and I have a list as long as your arm of action points to follow-up on.
"Given the location of Mountbatten Court the issue of Barton Farm was raised a number of times and it was nice to be able to explain the current situation so residents know what the process is from this point. We also discussed and I am resolved to re-double my efforts on working towards a safer crossing of the main road for those living in Mountbatten Court."
If you live in Mountbatten Court and did not get to see Steve & Eileen during the surgery on 26 August 2011, please contact us and we will pop back or make an appointment to see you at a future surgery in Winchester.
