Steve Brine has highlighted an exciting local musical talent after a summer in which Jonny Breakwell's EP Emily was released on CD, iTunes and Spotify.
Originally from Teg Down, Jonny is currently in his third year studying Classical Music at Manchester University. He said: "This summer, as well as working in the Leaf & Bean cafe in Fulflood, I spent some time gigging and taking part in open mics in London.
"It has been a really exciting time, especially with Emily being released. I am working on raising my profile so that I can realise my ambition to move to London and become a full-time singer/songwriter after I finish Uni in the Spring."
Steve said: "I was blown away when I heard Emily, which started playing the moment I landed on the website. It is a lovely tune, and it is clear Jonny has so much talent.
"I think it is great we have Jonny, for now, basing himself in Winchester when he isn't at Uni, and we should do what we can to celebrate the talent we have here.
"I am sure that once he graduates he will be very successful, and I wish him all the very best in achieving his goals."
