Steve Brine is backing the MS Society as they search for local volunteers across Winchester & Chandler's Ford.
The Winchester branch need a whole team which includes becoming part of the committee, fundraisers, publicity roles and people to work in a support capacity working directly with people affected by MS, be they newly diagnosed, caring for a relative with the condition or grappling with changing symptoms and circumstances.
Local volunteer Pat Neal said: "The Winchester branch of the MS Society provides crucial support and services to local people affected by MS, who would otherwise be left alone to struggle. In particular the physiotherapy sessions which are funded by the branch and delivered by Hobbs Rehabilitation – this service is a lifeline to lots of the people in Winchester with MS."
As a new volunteer a person that makes a commitment of a couple of hours a week can expect the full support of the existing branch volunteers, local staff and MS National Centre. Training is provided for all new volunteers, particularly anyone who is interested in becoming part of the Support team. Support Volunteers access 4 days of high quality training that fully equip them with the tools they need to embark upon the role with confidence.
Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine said: "I am more than happy to give the MS Society my full backing, and would ask that anyone locally who would like to help gets in touch via the contact details below."
