Steve Brine met with colleagues Sir George Young and Cllr Stephen Godfrey as they discussed the Bullington Cross wind farm proposals on site with EDF Energy officials.
EDF have set out plans for 17 turbines, 126m tall, across the Bullington Cross and Norton area, which cover a number of district councils and parliamentary constituencies.
Speaking after the meeting, Steve Brine said: "This is a significant proposal from EDF Energy which will have a significant impact on a large area of unspoilt Hampshire farmland. As always with these kind of applications, it's a balance between the environmental impact and the community benefits, local and national in terms of making the switch to renewal sources of energy.
"This will create clean energy and it will produce a small amount of money each year for a new community fund that is to be set up but residents in each affected area are entitled to ask what exactly they will get for accepting these enormous 136 metre turbines in their back yard and if they don't like what they hear, it is absolutely their right to object.
"I strongly urge my constituents, especially those living near the proposed site, to attend the exhibition if they possibly can on Saturday or visit the website to find out as much as they can about what is being proposed and then to have their say when a formal planning application is brought forward later this year."
EDF Energy Renewables will be giving local residents the opportunity to find out more on Saturday 29th September 2012 at Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney with a public exhibition from 2-5pm and a Q&A forum (chaired by the parish council) from 5-6pm.
