Steve and his young family spent the Bank Holiday among hundreds of local people at the annual, and very successful, Easton village fete.
Among those attending included the BBC's Robert Hall, who compered the event, and Roger Johnson. On a rare dry afternoon, Steve took his turn in Ye Easton Stocks, where he cooled off courtesy of wet sponges thrown by delighted onlookers, including his daughter Emily.
He said: "I've been coming here for about eight years now and I don't think it has ever rained."
With activities including shove ha'penny, fairground rides, go-karting and a bouncy castle, the afternoon is expected to have raised over £6000 for the village church, the hall and the cricket club.
There were also displays of rare cars, motorbikes and a helicopter.
Steve added: "It's a great village event and virtually everyone is involved in some way in making it happen, which is why it's such a success."
