Steve Brine dropped into the Chelsea Flower Show on Tuesday 24th May to meet up with a team from Sparsholt College.
The five-strong group were displaying "the people's plants" at the prestigious national event, and as a member of the All-Party Gardening and Horticulture Group, Steve was delighted to meet up with the team on an early morning visit to the show.
Steve said: "It was great to see my constituency - and Sparsholt College no less - represented so proudly at the Royal Horticultural Show. Chris and the team of students have created something special here and I really enjoyed chatting to them all, especially the young people who are all horticulture students at the college.
"There is now growing evidence that horticulture and gardening can form part of the solution towards addressing major health and well-being issues, and I was able to learn more about a fantastic scheme called 'Greening Grey Britain', which is an RHS call to action to get the nation to transform hard, cold grey areas into living planted-up beautiful places, improving lives and helping the environment.
"The RHS show garden which I also saw for myself is designed to celebrate the health and wellbeing benefits of Greening Grey Britain and demonstrated how plants enrich lives, lift our spirits and can help our country become happier and healthier."
